Okanagan Screening of Fractured Land Is More Than An Environmental Film

Dressed in a suit while sporting a mohawk and tattoos, Caleb Behn is himself a paradox. Fractured Land follows four year's of Behn's tormented journey to balance the needs of a community reliant on the jobs created by some of the oil and gas industry's largest fracking operations in the world, with a sacred duty to protect the land and defend his people's territory.

It is a masterpiece of film work by filmmakers Fiona Rayher and Damien Gillis that reveals the deeper conflicts and more complex issues that surround the ongoing global need to fill the world's insatiable appetite for fossil fuels.

The film follows Behn through law school, sharing knowledge with other indigenous people, helping deal

with deep community divisions as he builds a movement for change.
