Hello and Welcome!
We are a community of brave, curious, and compassionate thinkers and doers. We are diverse in faith, ethnicity, history and spirituality, but aligned in our desire to make a difference for the good. We have a track record of living on the side of love, justice, and peace.

We have radical roots and a history as self-motivated spiritual people: we think for ourselves and recognize that life experience influences our beliefs more than anything. ​We need not think alike to love alike. We are people of many beliefs and backgrounds: people with a religious background, people with none, people who believe in a God, people who don’t, and people who let the mystery be.

We are Unitarian Universalist. We welcome and are influenced by the teachings of Humanism, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Paganism, agnosticism, atheism, and more. All faith traditions contain wisdom that can be gleaned and enhanced by one another. Some of us are adherents of specific philosophies and find a safe place at KU for broader discussions.

On the forefront of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer inclusion for more than 40 years, we are people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

Becoming part of a new community can be difficult. Although you might see your values and principles reflected in the discussions, services and material, it can be intimidating trying to socialize with new people who have established connections. It can be difficult to navigate where you might fit in. We know, we’ve been there. So to make the process nice, clear and easy, we have organized our journey into the KU community into pathways.
While your path will be unique to you, we have laid out some structured steps to help you on your journey. A Pathway is a sequence of steps a person goes through in the process of meaningful growth. Which path or paths you choose to navigate is up to you. If there is one that doesn’t speak to you, you never need to journey there. Our community is here to help you navigate the trail you choose.
