In theological circles it is not sufficient to have a set of beliefs (or in our case Principles).  Religions are also expected to support or ‘justify’ those beliefs.  On what do you base our values?  We UU’s have an eclectic list, but we also have an approach that is unique in religious discussion.

About the event

Exploring the Six Sources

The Principles tell us how we hope to live. The Sources invite us into an ongoing conversation about where those hopes come from—and how they continue to evolve.

This Fall, we have had a successful discussion series looking at the eight Principles.  Rev. Brian has proposed a follow up course looking at the six Sources of our faith.  In theological circles it is not sufficient to have a set of beliefs (or in our case Principles).  Religions are also expected to support or ‘justify’ those beliefs.  On what do you base our values?  We UU’s have an eclectic list, but we also have an approach that is unique in religious discussion. Brian says that conversations about our Sources are sometimes more lively than discussions of the Principles.

The format will be similar to the Principles course. It will be four two-hour sessions from 10-12 on Saturdays…
